DST invites applications from innovative Electric Vehicle Startups with promising technologies validated at laboratory (TRL 3-4) and have higher potential in translating them into commercially viable products (TRL 6-8). Financial support will be provided to the selected startups through incubators for product development, pilot demonstration, testing and validation, market-entry and commercialization. The program is implemented in collaboration with MHI and ACMA. The specific thematic areas for seeking indigenous solutions includes - Tropical EV Battery, Power Electronics and Machine Drives and EV Charging Infrastructure.

Within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Department of Science and Technology of the Republic of India and the Ministry of Trade and Industry of the Government of the Republic of Singapore on Cooperation in the fields of Science, Technology and Innovation signed on February 23 2022, Department of Science & Technology (DST), Govt. of India and Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Singapore invite Indian and Singapore scientists / researchers to submit proposals for joint research projects in the areas of “Digital Health/ Medical technologies” and “Green Hydrogen”. 

International Research Training Groups IRTGs, in which German universities cooperate with research institutions in other countries, combine innovative top-level research and the structured promotion of excellent early career researchers. As bilateral collaborations set up by experienced scientists, IRTGs promote systematic scientific cooperation through joint research programmes and corresponding qualification measures for post doctoral researchers.

Vaishvik Bharatiya Vaigyanik (VAIBHAV) Fellowship envisages a collaboration between scientists of Indian Diaspora with Indian Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs), Universities and/ or public funded Scientific Institutions. The VAIBHAV Fellow would identify an Indian Institution for collaboration and may spend up to two months in a year for maximum 3 years.

The Policy Research Cell (PRC), DST aims to strengthen the evidence-based policy research mechanism in the country through establishment of Centres for Policy Research (CPR) focusing on specific themes.

SHAKTI is an institutional level of funding under FIST which comprise boarder participation of STEM departments.

The Science and Heritage Research Initiative (SHRI) intends to utilize modern S&T tools to preserve, protect, and present ancient scientific and technological heritage of India at global platform. SHRI has created an extensive ecosystem of Heritage Science in the country connecting interdisciplinary themes, state-of-the-art technologies and diversified researchers. 

 SHRI has been envisaged to –

·         Build capacity of human resource and encourage researchers to work in these areas.

·         Promote scientific R&D activities for conservation of Heritage objects which may include material deterioration process, preservation techniques, intervention technologies, new materials, processes for restoration, development of diagnostic technologies & tools.

·         Safeguard use, representations, expressions, knowledge, practices, techniques, communities, groups, individuals, recognised as an integral part of our cultural heritage.

·         To explore new approaches, state-of-art technology to preserve the heritage and art works of our ancestors, to learn evolution and growth of human civilization.

·         Promote application of advance knowledge of archaeometric science in multiple fields.

·         Promote R&D activities and technological advancement in Tribal Arts for value addition.

The envisaged thrust areas are - • Study of Heritage Materials/Metals. • Remote sensing Techniques for Detection of Archaeological Residues. • In situ non-invasive imaging of sub-surface microstructure of object, sustainable radiography for heritage materials, etc. • Heritage Textiles – New technologies in yarn treatment, weaving, printing, Eco friendly dyes, Cement Clothing etc. • Salts and synthetic coatings for wall paintings for example, the application of surface science to artists' acrylic emulsion paint films • Health monitoring of ancient artefacts. • Tribal Arts/Heritage • New Materials development • Conservation Technologies • Development of Tools/process for conservation • Any other area related to Heritage other than mentioned above.
