The Methane, Monitoring and Mitigation Technologies (M³T) Program envisages to develop a variety of technologies for identifying, measuring, monitoring, and eliminating methane emissions. Research and Development (R&D) in methane mitigation focuses on multiple areas to effectively reduce emissions across different sectors such as:

a)   Oil & Natural Gas

b)    Coal Mines,

c)    Landfills

To catalyze a stronger and rejuvenated Indo-French scientific partnership, Department of Science and Technology (DST), Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, and French National Research Agency (ANR), France are launching the 1^st joint call for submission of the project proposals in “Green Hydrogen Innovations for Sustainable Energy Solutions”. This is in pursuance of the decision taken during the second meeting of the Indo-French Joint Committee of Science and Technology (JCST) which took place in Delhi NCR on January 18th, 2024.

The Australia-India Strategic Research Fund AISRF is a platform for bilateral collaboration in science, jointly managed and funded by the governments of India and Australia. The objectives of the AISRF are to increase the interactions on leading-edge science and technology by supporting collaboration between Australian and Indian researchers in strategically focused, cutting-edge scientific research and technology projects, as well as facilitate India’s and Australia’s access to the global ST system. The priority areas for collaborative research projects in Round Sixteen of the Indo-Australian ST Fund are: i) Critical minerals processing technologies and methods; ii) Quantum computing and communications; and iii) Remanufacturing and product end-of-use recovery including electronic waste recycling. The call for applications for Round Sixteen will opens from 04 March 2025 to 11 April 2025.

International Research Training Groups IRTGs, in which German universities cooperate with research institutions in other countries, combine innovative top-level research and the structured promotion of excellent early career researchers. As bilateral collaborations set up by experienced scientists, IRTGs promote systematic scientific cooperation through joint research programmes and corresponding qualification measures for post doctoral researchers.

The Strengthening, Upscaling & Nurturing Innovations for Livelihood (SUNIL) programme supports collaborative/network projects from Knowledge Institutions (KI) and NGOs aiming to deliver locally appropriate pilot-tested technologies and social enterprise creation of field-tested S&T models to strengthen the livelihood efficiency of Economically Weaker Section (EWS) of society and skilled & semi-skilled rural/urban population working in unorganized sector

Scheme for Young Scientist & Technologist (SYST) programme of Department of Science and Technology (DST) aims to motivate and nurture young scientist & technologists who have adequate background and training in fields of science and technology and inclined to undertake application oriented socially relevant research projects. Young Scientists are supported for finding affordable and adaptable Science and Technological (S&T) solutions for identi­fied socio-economic challenges and strengthening the livelihood of marginalized communities for sustainable and inclusive development of society. The programme focusses on the development/demonstration of technologies, techniques and processes for societal problems through Science and Technology (S&T) interventions.
