The Methane, Monitoring and Mitigation Technologies (M³T) Program envisages to develop a variety of technologies for identifying, measuring, monitoring, and eliminating methane emissions. Research and Development (R&D) in methane mitigation focuses on multiple areas to effectively reduce emissions across different sectors such as:

a)   Oil & Natural Gas

b)    Coal Mines,

c)    Landfills

International Research Training Groups IRTGs, in which German universities cooperate with research institutions in other countries, combine innovative top-level research and the structured promotion of excellent early career researchers. As bilateral collaborations set up by experienced scientists, IRTGs promote systematic scientific cooperation through joint research programmes and corresponding qualification measures for post doctoral researchers.

Inclusive TBI is a three years duration initiative supported by the Department of Science Technology DST for educational institutions who are likely to foster innovation and entrepreneurship culture among the students, faculties, entrepreneurs, and nearby communities. The initiative aims to inculcate the spirit of Innovation Entrepreneurship IE amongst the students, innovators and entrepreneurs, encourage and support innovative ideas, start- up creation through incubation. It is expected that students, innovators and entrepreneurs will take up innovative ideas/projects and with mentoring support from the academic and startup ecosystem, try to build a startup around the innovative idea/project. The outcome of the i-TBI shall be converting ideas into startups. i-TBI Inclusive TBI would also create a culture of innovation entrepreneurship in the Host Institution HI and nearby geographies. I-TBI will be equipped with grants-in-aid funding support to innovators to convert ideas to prototype and prototype to startups.

Women's Instinct for Developing and Ushering in Scientific Heights & Innovations (WIDUSHI): WIDUSHI Programme aims to encourage and support senior women scientists to conduct research in interdisciplinary areas of Science & Technology. WIDUSHI programme provides support to women scientists who are at the verge of retirement or retired from Government service and also to the women scientists who are not at permanent position but are active researchers and continuously excelling in research field. The maximum age to apply under WIDUSHI programme is 62 years.

The WISE SCOPE Fellowship program of the Department of Science & Technology (DST) aims to provide opportunity to Women Scientists and Technologists who have completed Ph.D. and want to utilize their S&T knowledge and expertise for the benefit of society. This program promotes projects that directly deal with challenges at grassroots level and address them through S&T interventions. Project proposal should include the development of viable technology/technique with possibility of lab-to-land transfer, adaptation and scaling up for the benefit of society under identified broad thematic areas.

Women in Space and Allied Sciences Leadership Program (WiSLP) aims to empower Women scientists in the leadership and governance roles in the area of scientific research. DST is collaborating with British council to implement this program under the UKEIRI this year. This program is designed for women scientists working in the field of space and allied science areas in India. Potential women scientists will be provided Mentoring and training workshops under the program for attaining leadership position in science and research careers.
